If, like us you look on the internet a fair bit, you’ll end up seeing a lot of search entries for postcards. So not only is Tunbridge Ware itself most collectibe, but the postcard featuring some of the special pieces are also collectible. It’s just annoying in the short term that one gets excited that there’s a “new” Tunbridge Ware item to view and it turn out to be a postcard.

Stamp boxes, a popular Tunbridge item (remembering that most of the smaller pieces were souvenir ware) appear quite a lot at the moment (2015-16) even on popular auction sites. They start the week’s auction at very low prices and then at the last minute they zoom up to a reasonable figure. Some stamp boxes have the Queen’s head (Victoria of course) in stamp-sized mosaic and some have a stamp or an image of the stamp transferred.

Either way, we’d rather be looking at stamp boxes than postcards of the same. Mind, you can buy the postcard for £1! If you’d like to buy a stamp box, we usually have a few in our Small Tunbridge Ware Boxes section. (They’ll also be in our Tunbridge Ware Desk Accessories section!)
